And as hard as that is in the moment to comprehend, it didn’t.
It also didn’t end when the boy who told you that you were his forever lied, when your heart broke, lost friends, said goodbye, took a leap of faith, changed your life, picked and choose your battles, said what everyone else was thinking, slept through your alarm, sat for struggled just a little harder than those around you, sat for too long on time on Stoop, stood up for yourself, hid pain you never dreamed you’d ever feel, failed a test, missed an opportunity, made a mistake, protected your peace, stayed out on a side quest too late, you were honest, kissed the wrong person, drank a little too much, spent too much time on the boot patio one night, heard a rumor about yourself, gave a cunty response, gave some one the benefit of the doubt, let someone or something slip through your fingers, skipped your 9am class, or when any of the other crazy, sad, scary, unique, happy, silly, unfair, and all around normal things happened either – and thank god it didn’t!
